The Holy Family Project

The Holy Family Project supports families in Kenya who are in need of various assistance. Projects consist of giving food to address the immediate need of hunger, caused by famine, a poor harvest, or personal hardships. Sometimes our projects are longer term, providing seedlings that can help grow a family's farm and enable them to plan for the future.

Currently we are looking to provide clean piped water for 10 families at the cost of $200 per family.

Our Journey

Called to Serve, Committed to Love

I was born and raised in Kenya with my 6 siblings. We grew up poor, even by Kenyan standards. We lived in a mud house for much of my childhood, walked long distances to fetch water, went to school bare foot, wore my school uniform to church as my Sunday best. We struggled with the uncertainty of poverty, not knowing where the next meal would come from, if I would get sent home from school for lack of school fees, and wondering to myself "If we will we ever get out of this?"

I never imagined that God's plan for me would bring me to the United States and although my wife and I still live a simple life here in the US. We know the many blessings that God has given to us and His will to use this first hand experience of what poor families go through in their lives to help alleviate those burdens. God has a plan for us and He has called us to Serve!

In 2018 when God gave us this ministry, we did not hesitate, to start to serve, to love, and to bring hope to those who needed it most. With whatever God provided, we began serving vulnerable families in Kenya, providing food, shelter, and a reminder that they are never forgotten and that they are Loved by God.

Jesus Calls us to a Mission of Love
MT 25:35-36

Jesus has given us a clear mandate that if we are to be blessed by His Father, to Inherit the kingdom prepared for us from the foundation of the world (MT25:34), then we must follow his direction of serving the poor!

"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me" (MT 25:35-36)

From small beginnings, our mission grew, and what started as simple acts of service blossomed into a family of givers and doers, committed to bringing dignity, love, and hope to the most vulnerable among us. We serve not for recognition, but for the greater glory of God.

Florence Kinuthia

Florence graduated in 2018 with a degree in business and IT from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, and in 2019, she joined hands with John to begin serving vulnerable families in Murang’a County, Kenya. Alongside her work as an IT professional, she has remained deeply committed to this mission because she knows what it feels like to go without. That personal experience fuels her passion to show up with love and empathy. Florence believes that God is love and that we are all called to love and serve. This journey has grounded her in faith and compassion and continues to shape how she lives, gives, and grows. When she’s not working or serving, she enjoys quiet reflection, organizing, and traveling. Simple joys that keep her centered and refreshed for the path ahead.

"And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” Hebrews 13:16 (NIV)

"John did a spectacular job presenting at our parish.  His joy of the Lord and enthusiasm in sharing Jesus with others is contagious!
We are planning to have him return soon."
